Pharmacy Technician Program
There Is NO State Licensing Examination
This class is offered at all of our campuses
.Although our school does not have a prerequisite for this program, the student must be at least 17 years of age and possess a High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalency at the time of application to the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Describe the roles and functions of the various positions in the pharmacy especially that of the pharmacy technician.
- Identify the responsibilities of the pharmacy technician, both in the community and the hospital pharmacy within the legal parameters.
- Define the career options available to the student based on the training received.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the brand names and generic names of various drugs for a variety of diseases, illnesses, and disorders.
- Identify the drug categories of a variety of drugs encountered in the daily clinical environment.
- Describe the business aspects of the pharmacy.
- Explain safety concerns and issues that might be encountered in the pharmacy.
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor as appropriate for the position of the pharmacy technician, including business like appearance.
Incorporated into the 240-hour program is an on-site Externship Program. Some of the organizations we currently have partnerships with are;
